Aquaponics refers to any system that combines conventional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as snails, fish, crayfish or prawns in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. In normal aquaculture, excretions from the animals being raised can accumulate in the water, increasing toxicity.

With the Mantis Stemponics unit, students can learn in an interactive manner. Expose your kids to interdisciplinary STEM lessons, while exposing them to computer science principles.

Using a variety of Mantis sensors, students are able to learn a variety of subjects in an interactive way.   The system is controlled by an interactive Scratch program, that also collects and plots data.
